Remembering Chloe

My deer sweet companion, Chloe, passed away on Wednesday of this week. She was eleven and a half years old. If you have ever let an animal into your heart, you will understand my deep grief at this loss. If you haven't, even in this time of mourning I can tell you it is more than worth it.

Chloe was love wearing fur, and never failed to bring me joy. Now she romps on legs that never tire, in the place where love is born.

You will be missed, baby.

  1. I am grieving with you. These pictures are awesome. I love Chloe!

In my life I have had four dogs. One was literally dog-napped, one we adopted late in life and two I knew their whole lives. I wept for days after their deaths.

  3. Hello, my name is Delana. Randy is our mutual friend. Thank you for the words and pictures that so poignantly describe the wonder and heartache of the love between a special dog and her best friend. Even though we have never met, know that my heart sends you the comfort of a knowing friend who respects your tears and understands the pain of such a loss.
I keep my dog's nametag on my keychain to remind me that he is always with me. Perhaps that suggestion or something like it will help you find a tangible way to hold her close as you grieve. I wish you peace.

  4. What a beautiful dog you had. She was "love wearing fur," that is surely a statement that describes what she meant to you. Agree, sharing your tears also.
