Vacation in Arizona

Took a week off to spend some time with friends in Phoenix. Got some great pictures while I was there. Click through the image above to see more on my Flickr page.

Now, it's time to move!

Goodbye, Blue Room

Took one last shot of my bedroom before I started packing. This apartment was brand new when we moved in, so I was the first person to live in this space. A lot has happened here. So many memories, emotions beyond count. Private moments only God was witness to, in this room.

Doors in St. Augustine

Went up to St. Augustine to meet an engaged couple and talk about wedding photography. I found some neat doors in the historic district. They kind of had a European feel to me.

It's my hope to go to Europe for the first time next year, hopefully in the Spring.

Cynthia's Vampire Audition

Cynthia's auditioning for a vampire-themed show and needed some headshots that put her in the role. The right costuming, a little Photoshop and a whole lot of energy brought the project together.

The Wedding of Dustin & Jihan

Saturday, June 26 was the wedding of my good friends Dustin and Jihan Watkins. They are also the first couple to hire me for both their wedding and engagement photography.

A Day with the Animals

During my day off yesterday, I headed over to Disney's Animal Kingdom to do some shooting. Even though I work there, exploring the park doesn't feel like "being at work." There's so much there that I don't see when I'm on the clock. In fact, the monkeys are right next door!

Animals have a calming, restorative effect on me. I might even call it spiritual. Maybe I'll pursue wildlife photography. How does one manage to get into that career? I have no idea. But I think I would love it.

PhotoFriday: Overcast

Crash

Here's an oldie. As we approach the stormy season, I look forward to more lightning hunts on my balcony.

Ultra-Wide

This week I invested in a new lens, the Canon EFS 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. This provides a super-wide angle view of any scene. The pic below was taken with its most extreme setting. I'm really looking forward to seeing what I can do with this new piece of equipment--particularly at the wedding coming up this weekend!

March: Right Between the Eyes

12 of 29 March: Right Between the Eyes

My second installment in my 12 of 29 is admittedly a hasty job. I forgot all about it until today, second to last day of the month. Anyway, I had some fun tweaking it.

A New King is Crowned

In a previous post I showcased a photo that had been deemed by Flickr's mysterious algorithms as my most "Interesting." This particular photograph of Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle reigned as my most interesting photo for years, until yesterday, when for whatever reason it was unseated by this pic.

Kiss

This is an older pic, taken very soon after purchasing my previous camera, the Canon Rebel Xti. Little Adelyn was but one day old.

Jekyll & Hyde

Most people's faces are asymmetrical. It's hard to tell just how much--unless you have Photoshop. Here are two versions of my face, digitally rendered by making either half into a whole, symmetrical face.
12 of 29 February: Jekyll & Hyde
It's strange; they both look like me, yet they are so different.

I think the one on the Left is Jekyll; he's the good boy, the pious one--but he's anxious and insecure. Then on the right you have Hyde. He might be the troublemaker, but at least he knows who he is and what he wants.

Still not quite sure which one is the good one, or if neither one is...

PhotoFriday: Distant

My Apartment from the Sky
See this photo larger here.

My apartment building can be seen in this photo, as well as the grassy field where Chloe and I often played ball. This was taken from a plane on the descent into Orlando, coming back from California earlier this month.

Dogs & National Parks

Here are some images from my late Christmas trip to see the family in California. I visited Yosemite, and hung out with my parents and their awesome German Shepherds, Merry and Pippin.
